Dayton Presentation on Medicare & Medicaid

Yesterday I co-presented to a group of caseworkers updates on Medicare and Medicaid. Just as with Medicare, Medicaid seemingly has constant change. For example, following the continuous enrollment of Medicaid, which stopped in Feb/Mar 2023, nearly 400,000 Ohioans lost Medicaid. There are projections that many more will lose Medicaid when the current administration's legislation is passed, likely this month (July 2025).

Our agency works with hundreds of dual eligible clients, those who are on both Medicare and Medicaid. Many times when one of our clients loses Medicaid, we can recover it through a waiver, many of which have specific eligibility criteria, such as mental health diagnoses or physical limitations. We are constantly training our agents and educating the community about these programs. We routinely host educational events, both private and public, to educate the community and help Ohioans get the most out of these programs. Please contact us for more information on Medicare or Medicaid and also if you wish to attend a future educational event. Stay well!
